Patients may encounter the term “iBar” when reading about full-arch restorations. It should not be used as a generic promise that every titanium-supported bridge uses a particular proprietary product.
On this website, titanium-supported zirconia is the general description. No specific iBar product is represented as included in the advertised treatment.
What a framework can do
In a suitable design, a titanium framework provides support for a zirconia restoration. Abutments connect the framework to the implants. The arrangement must be planned for the patient’s space, bite and maintenance requirements.
Questions to ask your clinical team
- Is a titanium framework proposed for my restoration?
- What is the exact manufacturer or system, if a named product is used?
- How does the zirconia connect to the supporting structure?
- How will cleaning and professional maintenance work?
- What can be repaired or replaced separately?
Read your plan carefully
A trademark or marketing name cannot describe the full construction. Ask for a plain-language explanation of the actual components and the reason they are proposed.
